We Moved

Well it has been a while since I have updated my blog and I am getting pestered by numerous members of my family to get it done so here is what we have been up to in the last while. In November we finally moved into our new house. We were so excited to finally have the move over with and done. For those of you who don't know we moved across town to traverse mountain. We haven't met many of our neighbors yet because it is too cold to be outside but the ones we have met seem really nice. I do however miss all of my old neighbors. It is always hard for me to move to a place where I don't know anyone and start over again. I really miss all the primary kids in my old ward too. I have been in primary pretty much since I got married and I have absolutely loved it. So it is very different to go to relief society and sunday school each week. It was definitely an adjustment to sit still for all 3 hours of church because I am used to being up and moving around all the time. We are really enjoying our house though and it feels like home now. Here are some pics of our new house from a couple of weeks before it was finished. I'll have to post some more recent pics later.





That's how you count to 10

The other day I was laying on Raleigh’s bed with him trying to get him to take a nap and he says “Hey Mom listen to this, 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12. That’s how you count to ten huh?!” I told him he had just counted to 12 and not 10 and he got all mad and said "No Mommy , that is how you count to 10!" I about died laughing because it was so funny.

FUN IN THE TUB

This was Jett and Raleigh’s first bath together. It was quite an adventure for Jett as Raleigh is pouring cups of water over his head and saying “See honey, it’s not that bad” They had so much fun that they probably stayed in the tub for 45 minutes just playing

This is how I found Raleigh one day as I was trying to decorate my house for Christmas. I had to laugh as he was walking around the house using our old stockings as his socks.


BROTHERLY LOVE

Raleigh loves to be right by Jett most of the time. Even if that means driving Jett and myself crazy. It is so sweet to watch them try to interact with each other and play together. Ok when I say play together I don’t actually mean they play together partly because Raleigh is a control freak when it comes to the toys but they mostly tease each other. What I love is that Raleigh is giving Jett hugs and saying he loves him. Raleigh always wants his picture taken with his brother.

BABIES ARE SO CUTE

I love babies when they are just in their diapers they look so darn cute. So every time I have to change Jett into his pajamas I love to just leave him in his diaper for a little bit and play with him.



PLAY TIME

The boys love when Steve plays with them. Raleigh especially loves it when Steve chases him and tickles him. He screams and laughs until he is exhausted. Most of the time Jett just watches and tries to figure out what is going on but occasionally he tries to get involved.


Raleigh Baby

Ever since Jett was born Raleigh has reverted back to being a baby at times. He whines, he crawls around on the floor and he wants to eat baby food. This includes any baby food from a jar and rice cereal mixed with just water. Personally I think it is disgusting but he will want a full bowl of it for breakfast. I think it is because he thinks he will get more attention this way. Most of the time it drives me crazy and I wish he would act like a little boy again but sometimes it is so funny you just have to capture it on film.

Swimming at the Reunion

I didn’t go swimming but Raleigh did with Grandpa Jolley, uncle Jeff and cousins Andrew and Ryann. He loves to go swimming as long as he doesn’t have to get water in his face. There was a big slide and I told my Dad to take Raleigh down it. I forgot however to tell him to lift Raleigh up at the end so his head wouldn’t go in the water. So they get to the top of the slide and I can hear them coming down as Raleigh is cheering and having a great time. They come around the corner at the bottom and Raleigh has a huge smile on his face, that is until they land in the water and then he never wanted to go on the slide again. The reunion was a lot of fun.

Gordon Family Reunion

Every year my dad’s family has an extended family reunion. This year they decided to have it at a park near the PG pool. It was so fun. Steve wasn't able to come because of work but we all missed him. They had all kinds of things set up for the kids. They had a fish pond, a train they had made and pulled by little tractors and a big net in which to throw a football at and try to hit the target. Me being the competitor that I am had a competition with my sisters to see who would do better with the target throw and of course I kicked their butts. It was awesome. Then towards the end of the day we had the PG pool reserved and we went swimming.

Funny Raleigh moments

One Sunday before church Raleigh found one of the extensions to the vacuum and decided it was his telescope. So here he is checking out the neighbors house or something.

I just thought this picture was so funny. Raleigh found this old motorcycle helmet in my parents shed and decided he needed to put it on so he could be safe while riding the scooter. Notice that the part around his face is the part that is suppose to be around your neck.

Fun with the Cousins

We went to the Riverton City parade and it was a lot of fun. They give out SO MUCH CANDY!! Practically everything in the parade threw out candy as it went by. It was awesome and the kids had so much fun. At one point in the parade one of the cars in it was playing music and wanted everyone to dance. So here are a couple of pictures of Raleigh dancing. I just think they are so cute and funny. I love when he dances, it always makes me smile.



Cousins Megan and Emily wanted to put on a dance recital for us and Raleigh wanted to be a part of it too. He can never let someone else steal the show from him. So here he is trying to be like the girls.


Pioneer Park

We went to Pioneer Park in SLC and had a picnic with some of my siblings and their kids. It was SO HOT. It was really fun though for the kids to see and do some of the fun things the pioneers did. Raleigh really liked going to see all the animals and getting to ride on a train. Like I said before it was so hot so we decided to take off our shoes and walk through the little stream to cool off. Don't ask me what Raleigh is doing in the picture with all the kids because I really don't know.

Swimming

This is Jett’s first time swimming. He was only in the pool for a couple of minutes because he got tired and wanted to go to sleep but we all had a good time swimming in Grandma and Grandpa Gardner’s pool. Raleigh has this phobia of getting his face wet and so he decided he needed to wear a life jacket and lay on top of Jett’s baby tube.

Lagoon

We went to Lagoon the end of June and I wasn’t sure what Raleigh would think. When we first entered the park he was scared because of all the tall rides and he thought he was going to have to go on them. So we started him off on the carousel and he absolutely loved it. Next we took him to a little airplane ride and some helicopters. Once he got on the helicopters he didn’t want to go on anything else. He just wanted to go on it over and over again.

Family Pictures

Well it has been a while since I updated my blog and there is a lot that has happened. In June all of my family was in town and we did a lot of fun things together. I absolutely love when my family is here and I try to drive to my parents house and see them every day. Some times that drives Steve crazy because I don’t get as much done around the house as I probably should but what can I say, I love my family and they are not here that often. One of the things we did while they were here is have a new family picture taken. It had been 6 ½ years since the last one was taken and that one was such a disaster we didn’t look forward to this one but in the end I think it went well. My sister Marianne (aka Muffy) is majoring in photography so she took the pictures and I think she did a great job. Thanks Muffy! Here are a few of the pictures she took.

The first one is my favorite of the entire group because I think it shows more of our true personalities but the others are ok too.

Little Boys and their Toys

In April, Raleigh turned 3. I can hardly believe I have a 3 year old. It is so weird and time has gone by so quickly. For his birthday we had all of his aunts, uncles, cousins and grandparents, that are in the area over to celebrate. He thought it was so fun to have everyone here to see him and that he was getting all of the attention. Raleigh had been saying for a while that he wanted to go outside and ride his bike but he didn't really have a bike. So we decided to get him one for his birthday. He is still trying to get use to it and how the pedals work but slowly he is getting the hang of it.


On April 22 was Jett's baby blessing. I had decided to use the same blessing outfit that I used for Raleigh but didn't try it on Jett until late Saturday night. When I tried it on him I discovered it was a little small. I guess that is what happens when Raleigh was blessed at 3 weeks and Jett was 2 months. Oh well I just put some long white socks on him so the legs didn't look too short. You can do that when they are babies and nobody cares. I can't find the blessing pictures at the moment so I will have to post them later.

Las Vegas Baby!

In March we took a quick trip to Las Vegas. We stayed with Steve's brother Taylor and we spent a day and a half touring around the hotels. It has probably been about 10 years since I have been to Vegas so there were many things I hadn't seen. We also got roped into sitting in on a time share seminar, which took up way too much of the day but we did get $100 out of it and a free buffet lunch. Raleigh didn't really like walking around the hotels so we let him play a few games in the arcade area and he absolutely loved it. Here are a few pictures of our trip.
